From Art into Business Opportunities | Workshop

On Friday, July 25, we brought to life a powerful mission: turning draws, turn creativity into real, tangible business ideas. Because we truly believe and proved that day that everyone is creative. Whether through drawing, storytelling, designing, or problem-solving, creativity lives in all of us. The key is learning how to turn it into something that can make a difference and a living.

This vision came to life at Haven Coffee – Green Square, where P&Co, Macondo Studio and Eddie White Jr co-hosted a unique Workshop/Masterclass designed especially for creatives, migrants, and anyone ready to explore the path from personal expression to entrepreneurship.

☕ A Warm Welcome at Haven. As participants arrived, the air was filled with the smell of freshly brewed coffee. Haven Coffee’s cozy space set the perfect tone for creativity and conversation. People mingled, sipped warm drinks, admired the art around them, and slowly settled into the space with curiosity and excitement.

✏️ Drawing Emotions to Find Direction

We began not with theory, but with feeling. The first activity invited everyone to draw their current emotional state a way to loosen up, access inner thoughts, and find inspiration from within. It was quiet, reflective, and surprisingly powerful.

💡 Business Thinking with Heart

Next, Sergio Pinzón, entrepreneur and expert in applied creativity, shared a powerful talk on how business ideas don’t have to be distant or corporate they can (and should) come from who we are, what we care about, and the problems we’ve lived through.

🇦🇺 🇨🇴 Stories from the Art World

Then, artist Eddie White Jr shared his personal journey of being a creative in Bogota, Colombia, the challenges of staying true to your art, and how storytelling has helped him connect, grow, and make a living. His words opened space for everyone to reflect on their own voice and journey.

🧠 Turning Problems into Opportunities

The next activity took a creative turn again: attendees were asked to draw a problem they’ve experienced or witnessed something they cared about fixing. From there, we began transforming these drawings into ideas for solutions, and then into potential business opportunities.

🧩 From Vision to Plan with Macondo

While the first half of the workshop helped everyone unlock their ideas, the second half, led by Macondo Studio was all about turning those ideas into action. We showed to the participants:

- Understanding their audience
- Defining their solution clearly
- Building a basic marketing plan
- Creating a visual identity

With markers, paper, and a big whiteboard full of dreams, every person started shaping their project into something real. Once business concepts were mapped out, Macondo introduced ways to amplify creativity through technology. We showed how to use:

- AI tools to generate visual assets
- Smartphones for simple photography
- Social media basics to set up an online presence

Participants saw how even with limited resources, they could begin showcasing their ideas in meaningful ways starting now. We wrapped the workshop with one last reminder:

Your best friend is a blank canvas. A space that doesn’t judge, doesn’t limit you, and is always ready to hold your ideas.

Because every business starts with a scribble. A sentence. A problem. A feeling. And every person in that room left knowing they had what it takes to begin.

🧀 Delights, Dulcitos, Merch & Community

As the sun began to set, we shared a small celebration together—thanks to Dulcitos for the delicious sweets and beautiful charcuterie boards filled with fruits and cheeses. People stayed to chat, laugh, and exchange contacts. Some even started planning collaborations right there.

This workshop wasn’t the end, it was the beginning of something bigger. If you missed this one, don’t worry you’ll have another chance to turn your creativity into something powerful and lasting. Thanks for coming!
